FAQ

The short answers to the questions that come up most. Each one links to the page with the full explanation.

What is Gaudio OTT?

Gaudio OTT is a professional web platform for options market analysis. It combines real-time volatility, Open Interest, volume and GEX analysis with a complete options chain, proprietary indicators such as the Gaudio Indicator, GEX Gaudio and ATM Vola, a multi-leg strategy builder with payoff curves, and supporting tools: heat maps, an economic calendar and financial news.

See What is Gaudio OTT? for the longer answer.

Is Gaudio OTT a broker?

No. It is an analysis platform: it does not route orders and does not hold positions. Strategies you build in the Strategy Builder are recorded so you can monitor their profit and loss, but execution happens with your own broker.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Gaudio OTT runs entirely in the browser, with a light and a dark theme and an Italian or English interface. There is nothing to download.

How do I create an account?

Open the registration page on the Gaudio OTT website, enter your name, email and password, accept the terms and privacy policy, and submit. Then open the verification email and click the confirmation link.

Email verification is what unlocks the dashboard, so the account stays locked until you complete it. See Create account.

I did not receive the verification email. What now?

Check the spam and promotions folders, wait a couple of minutes, and confirm the address was typed correctly. Then use the resend button in the Profile card of the Settings page, which becomes available again after a short cooldown shown on the button itself.

Can I use my account on two devices at the same time?

No. The account is bound to one active device at a time: signing in from a new device or a different browser closes the previous session, and you have to sign in again on the device you want to work from. It is a security measure, so an unexpected sign-out usually means a sign-in happened somewhere else. See User menu.

How many browser tabs can I keep open?

One on Free, three on Premium, three on Strategy and five on Ultra. The limit counts simultaneous windows or tabs on the same account, and it is separate from the one-active-device rule: exceeding it refuses the extra tab rather than signing you out.

How do I see which devices have used my account?

The Your devices card in Settings lists every browser that has used the account, with first-seen and last-seen timestamps. You can revoke any of them, which forces that browser to sign in again. If you do not recognise a device, revoke it and change your password.

Can I change the email address on my account?

No. The email address is the account identifier and is shown as read-only in Settings. Contact support from the main site if it has to change.

How much does Gaudio OTT cost?

The Free plan is free. Premium and Strategy cost 35 € per month plus VAT, or 350 € per year plus VAT. Ultra costs 50 € per month plus VAT, or 500 € per year plus VAT.

Annual billing gives two months free compared with twelve monthly payments. See Plans and pricing for the full feature grid.

What can I do on the Free plan?

Rather a lot: real-time data on stocks, indices and futures, the dashboard with stock and ETF cards, symbol search and overview, favorites, the complete options chain, the position Open Interest and Volume studies, both heat maps, and the macro calendar. No credit card is required.

What is the difference between the Premium, Strategy and Ultra plans?

Premium is the analysis plan: all the intraday charts (Open Interest, GEX Open Interest, Volumes, GEX Volumes, Volatility), the Find Inefficiency chart, the Gaudio Indicator, GEX Gaudio, ATM Vola, the futures and customizable dashboard cards, and news.

Strategy is the strategy plan: the Strategy Builder with full trade and portfolio management, AI Suggestions and the Opportunities Scanner.

Ultra is both together, cheaper than buying them separately, with priority support.

Is there a free trial?

Yes, a 7-day free trial on monthly paid plans, available to accounts that have never had a subscription of any kind. A card is required but nothing is charged if you cancel before it ends. It is one trial per user and per card: if the card has already been used for a trial, the subscription starts immediately with the first charge. The trial is not available on annual billing, and abandoning a checkout does not consume your eligibility.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. Cancel from the Manage Subscription button on the Plan page, which opens the secure payment portal. You keep access to your plan features until the end of the current billing period.

Which payment methods are accepted?

Credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard and American Express, processed through Stripe. No card data is stored on Gaudio OTT servers.

Is the market data real time?

Yes, on the Free plan as well as the paid ones. Dashboard and intraday pages refresh automatically every 60 seconds and show a countdown to the next refresh; returning to a background tab refreshes immediately, and every chart toolbar has a manual refresh button. See Is the data real time?

Which markets and instruments are covered?

US stocks, indices, ETFs and futures, with real-time quotes and listed options where they exist. Plus pan-European equity and index options settled on Eurex.

Some analyses are restricted by instrument type: the position studies and the intraday volume charts do not support futures contracts.

Why does a European options chain have no bid and ask?

Because pan-European equity and index options come from Eurex end-of-day settlement data, which contains no intraday quotes. Those chains carry an EOD - Eurex badge with the settlement date and show a theoretical price instead of bid and ask, and bid/ask cells read as a dash.

Which symbols work best for options analysis?

The most liquid ones, and in particular the instruments institutional desks follow, such as SPX, NDX, VIX and GLD. Open Interest and volume concentrations only carry information where there is real option volume, so a thin chain produces a profile that looks dramatic and means nothing.

Where do I start with options analysis?

With the options chain on a symbol you already follow: pick an expiration, press Process, and read the strikes. Then compare intraday Open Interest with intraday volumes on the same symbol, which separates positions that are already open from activity happening now.

GEX and the proprietary indicators make sense once those two reads are familiar.

What is the difference between Open Interest and volume?

Open Interest counts the contracts currently open, so it describes accumulated positioning and changes slowly. Volume counts the contracts traded during the session, so it describes activity as it happens. Volume leads: a strike traded heavily today typically changes its Open Interest over the following days.

What is the difference between the intraday charts and the position studies?

The intraday charts show one expiration during the current session and refresh every 60 seconds. The position studies can total several expirations together and support named snapshots, so they are the tools for tracking how positioning changes across days rather than within a day.

What is GEX?

GEX, or Gamma Exposure, is the aggregate gamma of all options open on an instrument. It measures how much hedging market makers must do to stay neutral as price moves, which is why it conditions how price behaves. Positive GEX tends to produce ranges, negative GEX tends to amplify moves. See What is GEX?

What is the Gamma Flip, and is it the same as Gamma 0?

Yes, they are the same thing: the price level where aggregate gamma exposure changes sign. In the app it is labelled Gamma Flip, and it appears as a switch in the chart settings of the GEX pages. Treat it as a dynamic pivot for the session, not a static support or resistance, because it moves as positioning evolves.

What is the Gaudio Indicator?

A page showing a real-time chart of the ES or NQ future with the previous session reference line and the automatically calculated market maker support and resistance levels, a volume histogram, and the proprietary Summa panel describing the current state of market volatility. Available on Premium and Ultra.

What is Summa and how do I read it?

Summa is the proprietary volatility panel inside the Gaudio Indicator. The base rule is that the market normally rises with volatility falling and falls with volatility rising. When that relationship breaks — the market drops but Summa does not rise as it should — you have a divergence, which is an early cue that price behaviour may change.

What is ATM Vola?

A page tracking at-the-money implied volatility through the session, split into three independent charts for the 0DTE, weekly and monthly expirations, so you can see whether the market is pricing more movement over the very short term or across the whole curve. Data is recorded automatically, so reopening the page brings back the whole day.

What is GauBio and how do I get access?

GauBio shows market maker support and resistance levels overlaid on the real-time price of ES, SPX, NQ or NDX, with a lower panel containing the GauBio indicator and the VolGaudio volatility line. It is an invite feature, not tied to any plan: it is enabled individually by staff, and when active the GauBio entry appears in the Main section of the side menu.

Are the market maker levels buy or sell signals?

No. They are reference zones to watch price react around. A clean break of a level accompanied by volume is generally far more significant than a simple touch of it.

What can the Strategy Builder do?

Build multi-leg options strategies from the chain or from 58 predefined quick strategies, read an interactive payoff chart with at-expiry and At Now lines, simulate the passage of time and changes in price and volatility, then save the position and monitor its realized and unrealized profit and loss with a full trade history. Available on Strategy and Ultra.

How do I find opportunities without checking symbols one by one?

Use the Opportunities Scanner, which ranks over 200 liquid US underlyings for premium selling and vertical spreads by return on required capital, with filters for capital, market cap, volume, implied volatility, day change, expiration window and short-leg delta. For a symbol you have already chosen, AI Suggestions computes the same structures on demand.

Can I export my strategies?

Yes. Export a strategy to a file from the view page or with the Download button on its card, and bring it back later with Import Strategy, which recreates the legs, history and notes. Chart snapshots and saved page layouts cannot be exported.

Why is my options chain empty?

Most often because the expiration has been selected but the Process button has not been pressed: the table loads only after Process. Otherwise, check that the strike filter is not narrower than the listed strikes, and that the instrument actually has listed options — the Options card on the symbol overview tells you how many expirations exist.

Why does a chart say futures are not supported?

Because that analysis is only available on instruments with listed options in the form it needs. The position studies (Open Interest, Volume, Find Inefficiency) and the intraday volume charts do not support futures contracts. The options chain, the Gaudio Indicator, GauBio and the Strategy Builder do work with futures.

Why can I not save a snapshot on a position study?

Because more than one expiration is processed. Snapshots require exactly one processed expiration, so that what you compare across days refers to a single unambiguous series.

Why do I not see a menu entry that the documentation mentions?

Either the feature belongs to a plan your account is not on — the Plan page shows the full grid — or, in the case of GauBio, it is an invite feature that has to be enabled for your account individually.

What does the yellow banner about the last available session mean?

It means the market is closed or the data for today is not available yet, so the page is showing the most recent complete session, whose date is stated in the banner.

How long are automatic volatility snapshots kept?

Seven days. You can configure up to three snapshot times per day, Monday to Friday, in the timezone set on your account, and at each time one snapshot is saved for every expiration on the page.

How do I report a bug or ask for help?

Use Send Feedback in the Help section of the side menu inside the app. Describe what you were doing, what you expected and what happened, and attach a screenshot of the whole page — it makes a problem much faster to reproduce. See Send a support request.

Are there video tutorials?

Yes, on the YouTube channel @fgoption, in the playlists section. They cover the Gaudio Indicator and Summa, volatility analysis, real-time SPX volumes, Find Inefficiency and the Strategy Builder. See Video tutorials.

Is there an API to read Gaudio OTT data?

Yes, for the Gaudio Indicator: two endpoints under https://api.gaudioott.com/v1 return the latest snapshot and every snapshot of the current session for ES and SPX, authenticated with a Bearer token. Access is not part of any plan, Ultra included: it is granted under a separate custom agreement, normally to institutional clients. See Gaudio Index API.

Is the documentation available in Italian?

Yes. This help center is published in both English and Italian on the same URL structure: the same page in Italian is reached from the language picker at the top, or by replacing /en/ with /it/ in the address.
